Discussions on jurisprudence in Upper Franconia (JGF)

Together with the Erlangen Chair of Public Law and Philosophy of Law and its chair holder, Andreas Funke, the chair organizes the Bayreuth – Erlangen talks on jurisprudence.

Practice, dogmatics and theory of law are often perceived as isolated branches of legal science. Despite their differences, however, they are inseparably interwoven. The discussions on basic legal research provide a forum in which scholars, students and interested practitioners at the intersections of these disciplines can engage in dialogue with one another. The talks present overarching perspectives on the fundamental questions of legal science, taking into account the classical approaches of legal philosophy, history of law as well as sociology of law in addition to the latest theoretical developments.
